Saturday, September 10, 2011 - Race Results - Bray's Cup

The Bray's Cup was held in Naples Bay on Long Lake. Three 1.5 mile windward-leeward races were battles out by seven boats. The Committee Boat was enthusiastically run by Rob & Cathy Knowles and Barbara Zeller. Charlie's cannon could be heard as the starting gun for each race. Winds were strong from the North/NW gradually slowing to variable winds from the N/NW with the west side of the lake becoming favored by the 3rd race. After the race, skipper's, crew, family and friend's gathered at Bray's Brew Pub where Mike Bray hosted an after party featuring Bray's famous mussels and chicken's wings, both favorite's of club members - and don't forget the great beer!!! Spokesmodel Rob Knowles announced the winning order of boats for the day and told stories of near misses, great tactics and serious errors. Much laughter and clapping could be heard amongst the crowd. All names will be proudly engraved onto the BRAY'S CUP TROPHY which can be seen displayed at the bar at BRAY'S BREW PUB! The day was a beautiful early fall day with clear blue skies, crisp air and lots of sun. Results of each race, and Overall Results below:
